A range of facilitators host events at Cefn Coed throughout the year, including wild food foraging, rewilding retreats, yoga, creative workshops and more. Our calendar is updated regularly, so be sure to check back to see what’s happening during your stay.

Saturday 4th April: Foraging, Wild Food & Rewilding

Join local wild food expert Kara this Easter at Cefn Coed for a wonderful range of foraging, rewilding and nature workshops. From identifying wild foods and exploring preservation and cooking techniques, to discovering the trees of the ancient woodland and their practical uses, these sessions are a chance to truly immerse yourself in the temperate rainforest.

Saturday 4th April

Wild Food Foraging (1hr) 9:00-10:00am

A whistle stop tour of a few key edible wild foods on the Cefn Coed site, learning how to find, identify, cook and preserve wild foods, understand their nutritional and medicinal properties, and avoid poisonous lookalikes.

Saturday 4th April

Wild Food Cooking & Preserving 14:00-16:00pm

Join local wild food expert Kara Moses in a wild cookery class! Learn how to forage, cook and preserve wild foods - pickles, powders, pestos, juices, salts and butters. You’ll walk away with your very own preserve to enjoy during the rest of your stay.

Saturday 4th April

Wild Food Foraging (2hr) 10:30-12:30pm

A gentle roving tour of a wide range of edible wild plants on the Cefn Coed site. Learn how to find, identify, cook and preserve a wide range of wild foods, understand their nutritional and medicinal properties, and avoid poisonous lookalikes.

Saturday 4th April

Tree Walk: Identification, Uses & Mythology 16:30-18:30pm

Join local guide and restoration forester Kara Moses on a tour of Cefn Coed’s trees: learn how to identify a range of native species and learn about their practical uses (as food, medicine, craft material, fire etc) and their spiritual significance in Celtic lore. An ideal way in to becoming more familiar with trees.

Wild Food UK

Foraging Courses

Wild Food UK run guided foraging workshops at Cefn Coed throughout the year, using our land and surrounding area as one of their teaching locations. Led by experienced foragers, the sessions introduce you to wild, edible plants, fungi and seaweeds, with a focus on safe identification, seasonal knowledge and sustainable harvesting. Workshops are suitable for beginners and offer a relaxed, informative way to connect with the landscape, learn new skills and see the natural world through a different lens. Retreat Wild

Retreat Rewild host women’s-only retreats and workshops at Cefn Coed throughout the year. These immersive sessions focus on practical bushcraft skills, reconnecting with nature, and reawakening ancestral knowledge of how to live confidently and consciously in the wild. Through time outdoors, shared learning and simple presence, Retreat Rewild offers a space to slow down, build resilience and rewild ourselves in tune with the natural world.
